Dress of Black Love

Now, I have a question for you lovely people. How does a max and cleo dress like this not sell straight away?

I understand it's not the most practical of dresses, but this is Christmastime and there's always an occasion for this type of dress. Not to mention it's only $52...
I cannot express how much I love the lace detail on the back.

The More Loving One

Looking up at the stars, I know quite well
That, for all they care, I can go to hell,
But on earth indifference is the least
We have to dread from man or beast.

How should we like it were stars to burn
With a passion for us we could not return?
If equal affection cannot be,
Let the more loving one be me.

Admirer as I think I am
Of stars that do not give a damn,
I cannot, now I see them, say
I missed one terribly all day.

Were all stars to disappear or die,
I should learn to look at an empty sky
And feel its total dark sublime,
Though this might take me a little time.

Forgive Me

I was thinking last night about how much I've missed posting. Which was followed by me thinking about why that was. I came up with 2 reasons. 1) I'm been extremely busy with school lately. 2) I didn't think I had any to write about.
I realise now that those are both bollocks. Yes, I have been busy with school. But not to the point where I can't even sit down for a few minutes to write. Also, there are definitely things that I can write about. It's time for me to update everyone on my life.
I'm trying to learn Italian. I've borrowed from the Library a book called "Learn Italian The Fast And Fun Way". I've been wanting to learn another language for a few months now. I tried to learn Brazilian Portuguese a few years ago. Reason? I met a boy in Brazil and wanted to be able to communicate with him when I was back home. Learning that totally failed. I also tried to learn German once, but then realised that I did not like how harsh everything sounded. Now I'm set on learning Italian! There is a reason for this one, you'll be pleased to know. I want to move to Italy when I can. Not only is it an absolutely beautiful city, but they are also really advanced in Gluten Free food! They test all children under the age of 10 for Celiac Disease, and they give extra time off to people who have Celiac Disease to compensate for their need to find food. Isn't that amazing?
This weekend I'm (finally) painting my room. I'm going to temporarily be a hermit to get this done. I've been meaning to paint it since June since it's still the ugly green color that my sister painted it. I'm going to paint it a somewhat pale gray. I'm hoping it'll be relaxing.
I'm going to soon open a shop on Etsy called Nathalie Cherie. What do you think of the name? I quite like it. I plan on selling numerous things. From photographs, to clothes, to painted storage things. The photographs will hopefully be for sale by next week.
Clothing is another topic that I haven't mentioned! I still have a lot to learn before I can sell my clothes, but I'm hoping my passion for it will help me learn faster. I have a few things I already have in mind that I want to make, and more ideas just keep coming.
I'm in my third semester at College, but this is the first semester studying something I love. I studied Commerce for two semesters; it was definitely not for me. Now I'm studying Creative Arts, Languages and Literature. I love it. I have to take a Universe of the Arts class, and we discuss History, with a touch of Art. I just can't get enough of it! I also have such classes as Painting and Drawing, and Creative Writing. Isn't that just incredible?
That's all I can think about to share for now. Hopefully I'll be able to keep writing on a more regular basis!
Welcome to November, my loves!

Blue as the Sky

     My look today.

I know this dress looks a bit like lingerie, maybe even pyjamas, but it definitely isn't. my mom bought it for me two years ago, from a store near Boston, Massachusetts. It was close to $100, and I still adore it. It is knit, paired with an extremely sheer fabric. There is a sheer slip underneath as well, to make sure it's not see-through. It flatters the figure and is a beautiful color.
Also, I have a new found love for legwarmers. They are incredibly comfortable and tend to make things look a little bit more sexy.
     What do you think?
     Love Always,
Juliette

P.S. Check it out on LOOKBOOK.

Millionaire

I spent a few hours this evening counting the money in my Piggy Bank. I wanted motivation to loose weight, so I figured... Well, I could allow myself to spend the money from my Piggy Bank once I'd lost the weight. The total was $216.75.
Then Adam and I decided that that probably wouldn't be enough motivation. The new plan is that I'm not allowed to spend any money until I lose weight.

Photographic New York City

I present to you some of my pictures from New York City. I'd love to hear what you think.

I felt that black and white pictures suited New York City, though I cannot explain to you why I felt that.

Curiosity

I sometimes have a hard time understanding what people think as they get dressed in the morning. There is a girl in the class I'm currently in, Universe of the Arts, and she's always wearing... Interesting clothing.
Today she is wearing gray jeans with running shoes that are black, gray, lime green and yellow. She's wearing a studded belt, and the studs are green. Her sweater is yellow, with darker yellow stripes and some weird pieces of thread in random places. Is that weird, or what?
On a happier and more awesome note, I'm going to have a few people over on Sunday to help me paint my room. The funny part is that they're all guys, And none have ever painted before!
I'll take pictures and show you. And this means that my room is nearly complete. My mom and I spent $300 at Ikea.
My room is going to kick ass.

Dearest Fashion

I've started a LOOKBOOK account. I am by no means as fashionable as those also on lookbook, but I do like my sense of style and think that it should be shared.

A Gluten Free New York City

I am home from New York City. We made it to Adams house around midnight last night; we were at the border for two and a half hours. It was long. I helped Adam and his sister do their homework.
I loved New York. I loved the bright lights, the amount of people, and especially how late everything was open.
The first night, we went to a restaurant called Peacefood Cafe. It was absolutely delicious. I'd recommend the chickpea fries, and definitely try some of their Brazilian Nut Chai with desert. This restaurant is Gluten-Free, so I had quite a choice in foods! The second night we went to a restaurant called Sambuca. I cannot describe to you how delicious everything was. Adam and I shared two gluten-free pastas; Bolognese & Garlic and Oil. They also served Caprese Salad, which is my favorite thing to eat.
For breakfast we ate (or drank) at Jamba Juice. Jamba Juice is also has a choice of Gluten-Free foods. I had a Strawberry/Banana Smoothie both mornings. Delicious.
That's all for now, I'll post some of the photos I took as soon as I've got a moment.
I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Roses are Red...

I cannot believe I forgot to tell you about this. My boyfriend and I celebrated our six month anniversary on August 2nd. I wrote down 200 reasons why I loved him, and he gave me six different colored roses.

     Aren't they lovely?

     What do you think?

Dear Sue

I'm currently making a painting for a woman named Sue. She helped me out a lot during my first year at College. Because of Celiac Disease, not only was I getting sick often, I was also exhausted most of the time. I'm doing a lot better now, but I still wanted to thank her. I decided that I could give her a piece of my art to keep in her office. I was hoping she'd think that is was a nice gift. Well, at the end of last semester, I was so caught up in studying that I didn't have time.
I'm seeing her tomorrow. We need to catch up on whether or not I still need her help and kindness. I cannot express how much she helped me. Whenever I felt overwhelmed, I was allowed to go sit in her office. If I didn't feel well enough to go to class, she'd call my teacher and take care of it. She was so helpful, and I'm not sure if I would have made it through my first year if it weren't for her help.
Since I'm seeing her, I decided I'd finally make her a painting. I'm about half done. I'm painting it over a previous painting which I didn't like, and therefore never finished. I've changed the painting for Sue three times since the beginning. Hopefully I won't change it anymore!
I'll post a picture of it when I'm done, which will hopefully be later today!

Wallflowers

I started school today. I had a bit of a rough time. I’ve spent the last 7 years waking up at 5:00 in the morning to get to school on time, and I’m starting to have trouble with it. I like eating breakfast at home, because I’m too shy to eat with people I don’t know around. That means I’m eating breakfast around 6:00 in the morning. Afterwards, I feel nauseous. At school, I’m still nervous and feel like I’m going to be sick. I don’t want to eat. I mostly drink water. I fall asleep on my way home, and I’ll usually fall asleep when I get home because I’m too tired to do anything else. I'm up for dinner (though, sometimes I do sleep through it…) and then I get some work done. I don’t understand why I still dread school. It’s my second year. I just want to disappear. I want no one to notice me, and to just be. I want to learn, for once.
My first class this morning was Universe of the Arts. I’ve been told that this is a hard course, but my teacher is a doll and very high energy and randomly bursts out Italian. She also refuses to sit in a chair and makes us all debate. I find it very interesting. I don’t tend to like participating, because all through high school I either fainted when I spoke in class, or stuttered and turned red. Also, talking in class doesn’t help me keep a low profile. For the first time ever, I’m looking forward to what we’re going to cover. I took Western Civilization last semester, and I passed with almost 80, but I didn't particularly enjoy it. I failed history all throughout high school. I’m not very good with memorizing things. But now I’m studying the history of art, which actually interests me. We debated today about what made art art, whether or not there should be legal or moral restrictions to art. Can stalking someone be considered an art? Is Jersey shore an art? I found it all very interesting, and only spoke once. No one else knew what I said, which made me feel proud. According to my teacher, it was a Chinese Proverb. I’m not sure how I knew about said Chinese Proverb.
I started and finished The Perks of Being a Wallflower today. I really enjoyed it. A friend of my brothers gave it to me. She’s lovely. When i first met her, she wore a black dress with a red lace bra. It was a lovely combo. She’s just moved to Toronto, which is a little sad. My brother and I really liked her. I found The Perks of Being a Wallflower very interesting. My boyfriend laughed at me because when we were talking around 2 o'clock, I started talking about the book. He doesn’t particularly enjoy reading, and doesn’t exactly understand how I do. But I do, I so do. The only thing I don’t like is sore eyes and a stiff neck, but I believe it’s totally worth it for the experience the book gives. When my other brother asked if I was reading it for school and I said no, he asked if I was “one of those types of people”. I asked what he meant by that, and he followed by saying that I liked to read about other people’s fucked up lives. I don’t really have an answer to that. I am oddly fascinated by destruction and the like, but I wouldn’t particularly say that if there was a story of suicide, I’d jump for joy. What I read or see affects me, and I think it’s nice to be able to feel emotion.
What my brother said reminded me of a book I read in high school, which I’m sure most of you have already read. A Million Little Pieces. This is a story that is incredibly well written and definitely makes someone feel emotion. I read the book nonstop ‘til it was finished. It was a very good read. I think I’ll start rereading it tomorrow during my breaks, if there’s no one around that I know.

J'Adore Les Livres

I love reading. Absolutely adore it. My boyfriend, Adam, doesn't understand how I can read for fun. Books have something about them that can satisfy that movies or plays just don't have.
I've recently read two books. The first one I finished was called By Invitation Only, by Jodi Della Femina. I fell in love with this book immediately. Toni caught my attention right from the start.
"Toni Fratelli has a busy summer ahead. After several setbacks in Manhattan force her to move home to East Hampton, her To Do list is full. She has to help her father run his popular Italian restaurant, start up her own catering company-and be the Maid of Honor at her best friend's wedding on the beach. Unfortunately for Toni, the groom's mother is a competitive socialite who'll stop at nothing to make sure her son doesn't marry a local girl. The biggest caterer in the Hamptons is trying to run her new business out of town. And worse than anything, she seems to be losing her best friend to a circle of snooty bridesmaids.
At least Toni finds love. When she meets a sexy surfer named Chris, it quickly turns into the most romantic summer fling of her life. But there's more to Chris than his vintage Mustang and used guitar . and Toni's going to like the truth. Before the end of the summer she'll be forced to face her hopes - and fears - as trying to forgive becomes her biggest challenge of all."
Are you interested? You can buy it right here, from Chapters.
The seccond book I read was called Beautiful People, by Wendy Holden. I didn't fall in love with this book quite as quickly, but the more I read it, the more I wanted to read. I was highly disappointed when the book ended.
"Elegant, educated and beautiful, Darcy comes from a line of British acting royalty. She's doing badly paid Shakespeare when The Call comes. A hot-shotHollywood director. A blockbuster movie. Fame and wealth beyond her wildest dreams. It seems an impossible piece of luck. Is it? Belle is blond, size zero and was hotter than the earth's core a year ago. But now her film career's in freefall. Yet Belle's prepared to do anything -- anything -- to get back into the Tinseltown big time. And woe betide anyone in her way. Nanny Emma has landed the job from heaven -- looking after a superstar's baby. Cue glamour, luxury and the inside track on fame. And a hell of a lot else besides. Celebrity. Some have it. Some want it. Some work for it."
What do you think? Click here to buy it from Chapters.
Do you like reading? What are your favorite books? Would you recommend any recent summer reads?

A Trip to Upper Canada Village

Have you ever heard of Upper Canada Village? It's one of my favorite places to be. Not only do they have amazing fudge, but it's such a lovely atmosphere. There are over 40 heritage buildings to explore, not to mention that the people who work there are all dressed up in costumes.
I am so interested in everything there. I'll show you a few of my favorite photographs that I took while there.

Looking at these pictures again makes me want to go back.
Have you ever been? Let me know!

Raccoon Invasion

Recently, my family has been invaded by raccoons. They broke down our front door one night a few weeks ago, and stole half a sandwich.
They didn't actually break down our front door. There was a storm that night, so one of the two front doors opened. They were able to get the screens off the second door, and walk (crawl?) straight into our house. They also managed to get into our shed one day when someone forgot to close the door, and pooped everywhere. They've also been pooping on our deck.
We found them a few weeks ago bathing in our stream. There were five of them. Despite all the problems they've been causing us, I can't help but find them adorable.
A few nights ago, we found two of them by our pool, grooming each other. I ran to get my camera, but wasn't able to get close enough for some amazing shots. They're scared of humans, it turns out. Who would've guessed?

     Aren't they adorable?
